Glazing your shoes

An essential step that all shoe lovers aspire to take one day, mastering the art of sublimating their shoes by glazing the toe and/or heel. This is the crystallization of wax particles that will give your shoes a particular shine.

To achieve a glaze, alternate between using hard wax shoe polish and shoe cream, making small circular motions. You can simplify the process by using Saphir's Mirror Gloss, which helps to produce a glaze more easily and quickly.

Begin by polishing your shoes with your usual shoe polish. Wrap a soft cloth (an old T-shirt will do) around your index and middle finger, making sure the fabric is taut and without any wrinkles. Take some Mirror Gloss on the cloth and apply it in circular motions to the areas you want to glaze, such as the toe box and/or the heel counter. Once the product has penetrated the leather, moisten the cloth with warm water and apply it in the same way. Alternate between these two steps, and gradually, the glaze will build up to become a mirror shine.

Whether using hard wax polish or Mirror Gloss, both will achieve the same result, but with different timing.
